Sci-Fi and Fantasy High Quality Audio

Unless stated otherwise files are original Starman* recordings, usually from show airings. "High Quality" simply means that the files have not been overcompressed. Mp3 files recorded using AC97/Sound Forge and dBpowerAmp/Lame converter/encoder set at near CD quality. Files added Apr 13th 2008 are from DVD.

Themes from tv airings often differ from album/cd recordings. Tv audio tends to be more compressed (less volume range) and may have additional audio from the end of the episode it is airing with. Lyrics and album art included.

"Over There" is an excellent series from Steve Bochco about the conflict in Iraq. The wisdom of airing it in countries currently involved in the conflict is debatable. Excellent baleful theme music vaguely reminiscent of the fine "Minstrel Boy" in "Blackhawk Down".

There are some very poor transcriptions of the song lyrics around. Here is mine (it's included in the mp3) which are correct for this recording.

The day is coming,
The drums are drumming,
If you know one say a prayer,
There's mothers crying,
And fathers sighing (ahuh),
War is in the air.

The trains are filling up with boys,
Who' ve left behind their favourite toys,
They're going over there,
Over there,
Where someone has to die.

Over there (over there),
Over there (over there),
Where ours is not to reason why,
Over there (over there),
Over there (over there),
Where someone has to die.

Instrumental

(over there) (over there),
(over there) (over there).
