Kitty Pryde runs through the building walls to get to Jimmy / Leech to protect him. Juggernaut follows in hot pursuit. Kitty manages to sidestep him and get to Jimmy first. Unfortunately Jimmy's presence negates her powers. They are confronted by Juggernaut but give him the slip with some more nifty footwork. Mutants get hold of Warren Worthington II and toss him off the roof. Warren Worthington III / Angel swoops down and rescues his father.

Iceman defeats Pyro (just letting some steam off). Storm zaps Callisto. Wolverine tricks Magneto into thinking he's won but the distraction allows Beast to sneak up behind and stick Magneto with the cure. It looks like the battle is over but the army attack Phoenix. Her powers go out of control. Everything near, including the mutants, is shredded. Wolverine starts to shred as he staggers towards her. He professes his devotion to her and she asks him to save her. A thrust with his claw and she's "saved".

Xavier's school opens again with Storm as Charles' successor. Rogue returns but it's not clear whether she got the cure.
